Why a Voter Backed Ballot Initiative?

The City of San Diego is implementing housing policy passed by the State of California. The State has ripped away local control of our Community Planning Groups. In their effort to obey State Law, our Mayor and City Council have passed the Complete Communities and ADU Bonus Density programs that left the back door open to Alligator projects. Our longstanding Coastal Height Limit of 30 feet is now at stake due to the State’s Bonus Density law.

The only way to close that back door is a voter backed Ballot Initiative. It would take back control from the State over the approval process of ADUs and put it back into the hands of the local Community Planning Groups where it always belonged.
