Alligators

Aligators are overbuilt ADU projects, mostly constructed by institutional LLCs, that use San Diego’s “Complete Communities” Bonus Density ADU rules, which I believe, overbuild our communities with their shear size. Once built, state law AB 976 doesn’t require those that build them to live in the units they build in our neighborhoods. Here’s the Alligator Map of where projects were approved or pending approval as of 2023.
